Wilcon Depot donates P300K to Tzu Chi’s disaster relief efforts

On November 11, Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines received a P300,000 donation from Wilcon Depot in support of the foundation’s disaster relief efforts, following the onslaught of Typhoon Tino (International name: Kalmaegi).
The turnover took place at Wilcon Depot’s office in Libis, Quezon City, and was made in the presence of Wilcon Depot’s President and CEO, Lorraine Belo-Cincohan, and Senior Executive Vice President and COO, Rosemarie Bosch Ong. Tzu Chi Philippines’ Deputy CEO, Peggy Sy Jiang, and Partnerships Officer, Clifford Co, represented the foundation in receiving the cheque.
This came after the two-day ocular survey conducted by Tzu Chi volunteers on November 7-8, during which families expressed their need for food, water, and other basic necessities, as many have lost their homes and livelihoods to the typhoon. On November 11, initial relief was provided to families in three areas within Talisay City, Cebu. Items included 25 kilograms of rice, sleeping mats, blankets, noodles, and snacks.
Through this generous donation made by Wilcon Depot, Tzu Chi can further its relief efforts in Cebu. The typhoon did not spare Wilcon Depot’s store and employees in Mandaue, yet they responded to Tzu Chi’s call to help affected communities in Cebu.
Wilcon Depot has been a reliable partner of Tzu Chi for years. It recently showed support for Tzu Chi’s upcoming 2025 Tzu Chi Charity Run for Education.
