Tzu Chi Relief for Bohol
More than a month after Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) battered parts of the Visayas and Mindanao with her heavy rains and gusty winds, hundreds and thousands of Boholanos continue to live in makeshift shelters, bereft of food, water, and electricity.
Tzu Chi volunteers from Manila flew to Bohol, on December 20, 2021 to survey the extent of the Odette’s damages, then came back on January 2, 2022 to organize several days of rice relief distribution. A third trip in January 24 saw volunteers dispense stubs that entitled families to receive cash assistance that would help them rebuild their homes and lives. Typhoon-struck victims in Tubigon, Loboc, Trinidad, Carlos P. Garcia (Pitogo), Ubay, Inabanga, Bien Unido, and Getafe are beyond grateful for the blessings of kindness and generosity.
