265th Palo Medical Mission at Leyte Academic Center
Tzu Chi Foundation recently wrapped up its 265th medical and surgical mission in Palo, Leyte on July 11-13. Bringing with them their stories and hopes for better health, a total of 5,444https://youtu.be/8VU7dANy0vM patients received medical and surgical treatments, all now ready to start a life with better health. For Tzu Chi volunteers, this successful medical and surgical mission is their motivation to continue their work in helping others, as Tzu Chi approaches its 30th year of love and compassion in the Philippines.
Overall, the medical mission helped 2,023 general medicine patients, 709 pediatrics patients, 122 obstetrics and gynecology patients, 1,227 dental patients, 165 acupuncture patients, and 1,111 patients who needed eyeglasses. The surgical mission helped 86 patients start a new life after their goiter and hernia surgeries. This medical and surgical mission was made possible by the efforts of 289 volunteers.
