Tzu Chi Scholarship Awarding (Manila)For the parents and guardians of the 75 new college scholars of the Tzu Chi Foundation, an orientation held on September 11 at the Buddhist Tzu Chi Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila, proved an eye-opener. Mary Pardilla, aunt of scholar Nick Angelo, learned for the first time about Tzu Chi’s long history of compassion and relief through medical assistance, disaster relief, education, and humanities. Relieved that Nick’s chosen course (Bachelor in Business Technology Livelihood Education, major in Information and Communication Technology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines) will be fully funded by Tzu Chi, she is also pleased that her nephew will grow spiritually under the guidance of Tzu Chi volunteers and Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s teachings.
