Tzu Chi’s Bicol scholars express gratitudeIt took a Tzu Chi scholarship to change the lives of Susie Camata and Fe Callos. Both from Bicol, each girl soldiered on despite her personal struggle. Susie’s father, given his meager salary was forever in debt to support their education. Fe was traumatized by the gruesome murder of her father, a crime perpetrated by her uncle. With a Tzu Chi scholarship, they now have hope and dreams. Susie can focus on her studies without worrying about expenses. And Fe plans to become a social worker so she can help others the way Tzu Chi helped her.
