Tzu Chi Technical Vocational Program
Tzu Chi Foundation’s Technical-Vocational Program has made great strides since it first offered scholarships in short courses that prioritized values education as much as viable skills. Since 2010, the program has served 1,120 scholars, who have gone on to find jobs both here and abroad, securing better lives for themselves and the families who depend on them.
The program’s latest milestone is a recognition by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). On May 19, TESDA representatives presented Tzu Chi Philippines CEO Henry Yuñez and volunteers with a Certificate of TVET Program Registration, specifically for the course on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCII. Scholars accepted to this program can be assured of quality education that complies with the standards of TESDA.
Here’s a look at the program that not only shapes workers but nurtures people to lead with heart.
