After receiving a substantial donation of fresh milk, Tzu Chi volunteers distribute them to the students of two public schools in Quezon City.
A total of 1,036 students from Old Balara Elementary School and Pasong Tamo Elementary School on September 5 received a carton of fresh milk each from the foundation. Both schools have maintained good affinity with Tzu Chi for the past six years through activities such as recycling and relief operations.
“The milk will be a great help in [the children’s] growth, even better they can share it with their families,” said Vida Briones, a teacher at Pasong Tamo Elementary School.
Students under the schools’ feeding program were prioritized in the list of recipients. As a one-liter carton of fresh milk costs over Php100, Monica Cadag attests that Tzu Chi’s milk donation is a big boon to them.
“We can hardly buy milk every month, so this is a blessing,” said Monica, whose daughter goes to Pasong Tamo Elementary School.
Tzu Chi volunteer Woon Ng hopes that the children reciprocate the blessings they received on that day by doing good deeds.
“I hope that the cycle of goodness continues to move. Just as we shared our blessings with the children, I hope that the children share their blessings with others,” said Ng.
